We rely on Jesus Christ and what he has done for our acceptance with God. Jesus is the only way to God and the only mediator between God and people.
What we believe
Centred on Jesus. Grounded in God’s word.
Most of what we believe we hold in common with the Christian church around the world and throughout the ages. We believe the Bible is God’s inspired word.
What does “Reformed” mean?
Reformed churches identify with the Protestant Reformation, which called the church to ground its faith and life in God’s word. These five convictions shape our worship, our witness and our everyday lives.
Grace alone
God loves and rescues people out of sheer grace. Nothing we do can earn his acceptance. His love and life in Jesus are full and free.
Faith alone
We receive God’s saving grace through faith in Jesus. Our deeds, reputation or moral standards can never be the basis of God declaring us right with him.
Scripture alone
The Bible is God’s inspired word and our final authority for faith and life. Church traditions and human reason have value, but they stand under Scripture.
To God alone be the glory
In response to all we have received in Jesus, we dedicate every part of our lives to God’s glory. Our worship, witness, work and daily lives belong to him.
Our creeds and confessions
Our understanding of key Christian doctrines is summarised in the three ecumenical creeds: the Apostles’ Creed, the Nicene Creed and the Athanasian Creed.
We also hold to the Reformed confessions: the Belgic Confession, the Heidelberg Catechism, the Canons of Dort and the Scottish Westminster Confession. We identify with the Contemporary Testimony of the Christian Reformed Church in North America.
