What captures our hearts, shapes our priorities, and makes us feel secure? In Revelation 17–18, Babylon represents a world system that draws us away from God through wealth, pleasure, and power. This sermon explores how we can be seduced by her pleasures, reassured by her power, and tempted to overlook wrongdoing because we profit from her sins.
Babylon’s apparent strength will not last: God will bring her to judgment. His call to “come out of her” challenges us to live in the world while giving our allegiance to Christ. We are called to examine our compromises, repent of misplaced desires, and find our security in Jesus, who died to free us from slavery to sin and give us eternal life.
